Am Mennonitenkirchhof
History
Originally more of a path between the Radaune Canal and the bastions: Gertrud, Karren, and Wieben. Only after the demolition of the fortifications was it developed into a street between the Radaune Canal and the railway line running in the former city moat, and renamed Am Mennonitenkirchhof (At the Mennonite Churchyard) in 1915. From 1922 it was renamed Südpromenade. In 1933 it was renamed again after a member of the Young German Order murdered by communists in Berlin. Since after World War I it formed a natural extension of Altschottland street, it became the main approach road from the south. This role ended when in the early 1960s a railway bridge connected the former streets Altschottland and Wiebenwall. On the 2004 city map it no longer has a name.
