Brombergstraße
Podgórna
History
Named after master baker Ludwig Bromberg, who was the first to settle here. After the war, from 1945 to 1948, the street was called ul. Podgórna, i.e., "Uphill Street," because it led to a hill. In 1948 it was given a hero's name: that of a recently fallen Polish general. When this general went out of fashion around 1990, it was simply renamed after another general. Today this street bears the name of the Polish general and politician Władysław Anders.
