Gelbe Reihe
Wiadrownia
History
Originally an entire city district. Until about 1800 it designated the area between Große Bäckergasse, Große and Kleine Gasse, Schmiedegang, and the street Eimermacherhof. The name comes from the bucket makers' guild, which already owned a yard here in the mid-15th century. By the mid-18th century the later streets had taken shape, but they only received their names between 1805 and 1814. The later street Eimermacherhof was initially called "Gelbe Reihe" (Yellow Row) and only toward the end of the 19th century did the final name prevail. After the war the street — on which not a single house remained standing — was called Wiadrownia until about 1950. Today it no longer exists.
