Georg - Hotz - Weg
Traugutta
History
The original Strandweg (Beach Path) — so named because it simply led to the beach — was renamed between 1933 and 1937 to Georg-Hotz-Weg, to honor flight squadron leader and secondary school teacher Georg Hotz of the Danzig Flying Corps, who crashed on October 6, 1933. Today it bears the name of the Polish politician and leader of the 1863 uprising, Romuald Traugutt (1829 - 1864).
