Große Scharmachergasse

From the beginning, it was regularly called Scharmachergasse, named after the trade of the coachbuilders and wheelwrights. It was only at the beginning of the 19th century, when part of the former Hintergasse was also renamed Scharmachergasse, that it became necessary to distinguish between "Große" (Large) and "Kleine" (Small) Scharmachergasse. Even today, it is simply called Scharmachergasse.
