Hagelsberggraben
3-go Maja
History
A quite old street, always named after the Hagelsberg, at the foot of which it ran. Only in 1902 did it receive the name Promenade. On this occasion, part of the street Neugarten was also incorporated into the Promenade. Around 1910, it was renamed Nordpromenade (North Promenade) to distinguish it from the second Promenade, called Südpromenade (South Promenade). An exception was of course also the Nazi era, when many things were named after current heroes. So too this street, after an SA man. The Hagelsberggraben was formed by a part of the former Nordpromenade (house numbers 14m and 14n). In return, the former Steinbocksbrill was added as Nordpromenade No. 9. After the war, the street was renamed to Street of May 3rd (a Polish national holiday).
