Hinter der Schießstange

The lane lay behind the shooting range built by the council in 1543 for arquebusiers. Since the targets at that time were attached to poles, the entire facility was also called "Schießstange" (Shooting Pole). The two older designations occur only sporadically. The name Bärenwinkel (Bear Corner) referred only to the later house numbers 2–7. The current name contains the Middle Polish noun kur. On the one hand, this meant a rooster, but on the other hand also the target in archery. Formerly, roosters were also used as targets.
