Kalkofen
History
This street was actually the path to one of the farms on the Strohdeich. Developed during the 19th century, it bore two names until around 1902: the smaller part (house numbers 1 to 3) was called Polnischer Haken (Polish Hook), the larger (house numbers 5 to 13) Kalkofen (Lime Kiln). Today the entire area is shipyard grounds.
