Kalkort

History
The name Kalkort first appears on city maps at the end of the 18th century, recorded in 1792 as "Kalkschutenort." Since 1792, this was the name given to the place -- or rather the corner -- where the lime barges (Kalkschuten) docked. These were flat cargo boats that transported quicklime into the city via the waterways.
