Kleine Scharmachergasse

n. e.

History

Originally a section of Hintergasse, which by around 1633 was already called Hinter der Scharmachergasse. The later name Kleine Parchentgasse contains the distorted term Parcham = defensive walkway, along which the lane was also located. The name Am Glockentor goes back to a foundry located at the end of Heilige Geistgasse.
