Kranichgasse

This lane, through the middle of which ran a drainage ditch lengthwise, as was so common in the Lower Town, was created around 1650. The southern part of the lane was already called Kranichgasse (Crane Lane) in 1650, while the northern part remained unnamed. In 1800 it was counted entirely as part of Allmodengasse, then in 1817 it was called Letzter Graben (Last Ditch) together with Grüner Weg. The name Grabengasse (Ditch Lane) appeared in 1886.
