Langgarter Wall

History

The path running behind the bastions was originally simply called Am Wall (At the Rampart); only from 1854 does the designation Langgarter Wall appear. According to a city map from 1945, the western part of this street was called Długi Wał (Long Rampart), while the eastern part was called Długa Grobla (Long Dam). After a few years the second designation was extended again to cover the entire street.
