Leitergasse

Pożarnicza

Aquam, via usque ad

History

As late as 1643 it is referred to only as "via usque ad aquam" (road to the water). Toward the end of the 18th century it belonged to the so-called "verlorene Gassen" (lost lanes). The designation Leitergasse (Ladder Lane), which has appeared since 1805, derives from the fire ladders that were stored in the lane.
