Mittelmarkt

History
A market mentioned in the oldest municipal ordinance, located between St. Mary's Church and the Große Krämergasse. It thus encompassed part of the Jopengasse and the Brotbänkengasse. From the 16th to the 18th century, it was called Schnüffelmarkt. The aforementioned document restricts trade to foodstuffs and prohibits the sale of fish there.
