Niedere Seigen

Rybaki Dolne

History

This area was given to the fishermen of the Hakelwerk so that they could store and sell their catches in seigen (fish traps) in the Radaune Canal. Apart from the first above-mentioned designation, both banks of the Radaune Canal were called „mang den Seigen“ (among the fish traps) until the end of the 18th century. Only from that time did one distinguish between the Leege Seite (low side) and Hohe Seite (high side).
