Pferdemarkt
History
This area served as a cattle and horse market since the mid-18th century and was named accordingly. From 1866 it was called Heumarkt (Hay Market), after the staple food of the animals traded here. After the war it was renamed Plac 1 Maja (May Day Square). Since around 1990 it has once again borne its old name, translated into Polish.
