Schleicherts Gang
History
The name appears in 1814 as a designation for a path that led from the later Mottlaugasse, along the then connection between the old and new Mottlau, to the Steinschleuse. Since the construction of the railway facilities, the freight station is located here. This name could derive from the name or rather nickname Schleichert. More likely, however, is that we are once again dealing with a joke: it was simply a shortcut path on which the "sneakers" (Schleicherts) cut their routes short.
