History
Stiftswinkel (Foundation Corner) was the name given to the entire area at the Oliva Gate between the later railway and the Holzraum (timber yard), after the Rennerstift (Renner Foundation) established in 1704.
Only in 1903 was the name transferred to the newly created street, which had been laid out after the leveling of the old fortifications. Since the war, the street bears a Polish name that translates as "Labor Lane."
