Strandweg
Traugutta
History
The original Strandweg — so named because it led to the beach — was renamed between 1933 and 1937 to Georg-Hotz-Weg, in honor of the flight squadron leader and schoolteacher Georg Hotz of the Fliegersturm Danzig, who crashed on October 6, 1933. Today the street bears the name of the Polish politician and leader of the 1863 uprising, Romuald Traugutt (1829–1864).
