Weißer Gang
History
This area was handed over to the fishermen of the Hakelwerk so that they could store and sell their catches there, in the Radaune Canal, in Seigen (fish traps). Apart from the first above-mentioned designation, both banks of the Radaune Canal were called "mang den Seigen" (among the fish traps) until the end of the 18th century. Only from that time onward does one distinguish between the Leege Seite (Low Side) and the Hohe Seite (High Side). How this unique name Weißer Gang (White Passage) came about cannot be determined. Today it is called, in translation, Hohe Fischer (High Fishermen).
