Winkelgasse
n. e.
History
As early as 1650, the section from Reitergasse to the bend at Weidengasse was called Winkelgasse. The rest of this lane was a water ditch. In the 18th century it was called Stinkgang together with part of Langgarter Hintergasse and Husarengasse, from which it then became Großer Stinkgang to distinguish it from Husarengasse. After 1870 it was named Kasernengasse after the cavalry barracks located here. After the war this lane was renamed to ul. Koszarowa (a correct translation of the old name), only to disappear in the 1950s.
