Beutlergasse

Named after the bag makers who live here. Bags and pouches - also called Geldkatzen (money cats, i.e. a wallet) - were their much desired product at the time. Our ancestors secured their Geldkatzen hanging on their belts by hanging a small bell on the bottom. As long as you heard the bell, everything was fine, when it stopped it was a signal to chase the thief with lots of shouting.
